Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! The new Almo works across Windows, Mac, and Web (Outlook on the web). Most importantly, it works with New Outlook for Windows, which the previous COM-based versions of Almo and TMO cannot support. Built on Microsoft's modern Office Add-in platform, Almo brings Azure DevOps work item management to all your devices, wherever you work.

Almo supports two authentication methods: Microsoft Entra ID (recommended for work/school accounts) provides SSO and enterprise security, while Personal Access Token (PAT) works with any Azure DevOps account including personal Microsoft accounts. If you use a personal Microsoft account then follow the process here to create a PAT token and add that PAT token to Almo.

Yes! Almo automatically provides a 30-day free trial for all new users. If you're an existing Almo customer, great news - all current Almo licenses are valid for the new version at no additional cost. Your subscription works across both the old and new versions of Almo.

Almo stores only essential data for licensing and your PATs (if using PAT authentication), all securely stored in Microsoft Azure databases. We don't store your work items, email content, or project data - Almo acts as a bridge, accessing your Azure DevOps data in real-time through APIs while everything remains in your Azure DevOps organization.

Templates and Auto Pilot are not included in the first version but are planned for upcoming releases. The current version supports creating work items from Outlook emails/appointments/tasks, linking existing work items, searching projects, and editing work item details. We're committed to bringing these powerful productivity features to the web-based platform soon.

Installation is simple across all platforms: Visit Microsoft AppSource (or click the Store/Get Add-ins button in Outlook), search for "Almo", and click Add/Get it now. After installation, authenticate using Microsoft Entra ID or a Personal Access Token (see FAQ #2), select your Azure DevOps organization and project, and you're ready to go
